In 1993, Pierre LARROUTUROU launched the debate on the 4-day week in France in order to fight unemployment. In 1996, he obtains a law which enabled over 400 companies to switch to a 4-Days Week (32 hours), without income losses and with jobs creation.

Since then dedicated, he has been dedicating his life to the strengthening of French and European social policies. He has also been working for a decade on the urgent funding of the ecological transition.

In 2019, he was elected Member of the European Parliament where he is fighting for a fairer Europe and for an adequate financing of the green transition, in particular via EU tax justice measures such as the Financial Transaction Tax.
