Rutger Hoekstra is the author of “Replacing GDP by 2030: Towards a common language for wellbeing and sustainability” which is published by Cambridge University Press. He is currently an Associate Professor at the Institute of Environmental Sciences, Leiden University. He leads WISE Horizons, a large European project, which is pursuing metrics and policies to enhance Wellbeing, Inclusion and Sustainability (WISE). In the past he has worked with/for European Commission, European Central Bank, United Nations, OECD, World Bank, Statistics Netherlands, various ministries, NGO’s, KPMG and a variety of large companies. He speaks about Beyond-GDP and post-growth futures at various universities and as a public speaker.
