Since 2014 Pascal Arimont (born in 1974 in Malmedy) is a Member of the European Parliament, where he is part of the EPP group. His parliamentary work focuses on the subjects treated in the Committee on Regional Development, the Committee on Legal Affairs and the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy. His constituency is Ostbelgien, the German-speaking part of Belgium.

Arimont graduated in Classical Philology from the University of Liège, in European Studies from the RWTH Aachen and in Law from the University of Louvain. Prior to joining the European Parliament as an MEP, Arimont worked as a lawyer in Brussels and Sankt Vith and was a partner of the law firm "Melotte, Veiders & Arimont".

He also was a member of the Provincial Council of Liège (2006-2009) and of the Parliament of the German-speaking Community in Belgium (2009-2014).
